Rifle Training
Build the Fundamentals. Understand Your Rifle. Become a More Capable Shooter.

A rifle is capable of exceptional accuracy, but owning a quality rifle is very different from knowing how to use it safely, confidently, and consistently.

At Majeed Guns & Firearms School, our rifle training programs are designed to take students from their first introduction to a rifle through increasingly advanced levels of marksmanship and precision shooting.

Whether you recently purchased your first rifle, want to become more comfortable with a rifle you already own, are preparing for recreational target shooting or competition, or simply want professional instruction, we can build a program around your experience and goals.

What Is a Rifle Class?
A rifle class provides structured instruction in the safe handling, operation, maintenance, setup, and marksmanship fundamentals associated with rifles.

Rather than simply going to the range and firing ammunition, students learn the principles behind consistent shooting and how their firearm and equipment work together.

Depending on the course level, instruction may cover subjects such as rifle safety, loading and unloading, basic operation, shooting positions, sight and optic fundamentals, establishing a zero, accuracy and consistency, maintenance, equipment selection, and range procedures.

Why Professional Rifle Training Matters
Modern rifles can be extremely capable. The limiting factor is often the shooter's understanding of the equipment and fundamentals.

Professional instruction can help you develop good habits from the beginning instead of spending months practicing inconsistently.

Training also gives students an opportunity to better understand what their equipment can—and cannot—do.

A good rifle course isn't about seeing how quickly you can fire ammunition.
It's about developing safe, repeatable and deliberate performance.

Our Rifle Training Levels

Level I — Rifle Fundamentals
The ideal starting point.
Level I is designed for new rifle owners and shooters who want to establish a strong foundation.

Training can include firearm safety, rifle components and controls, proper handling, loading and unloading, basic maintenance, shooting positions, sighting fundamentals, trigger control, follow-through, and introductory accuracy work.

Typical Equipment
Rifle • Appropriate ammunition • Magazines where applicable • Eye protection • Hearing protection • Appropriate range clothing • Rifle case

Students can use many common rifle platforms appropriate to the particular course, including bolt-action rifles, semi-automatic sporting rifles, pistol-caliber carbines, lever-action rifles, and rimfire rifles.

Level II — Intermediate Rifle

Move beyond basic operation.
Once the fundamentals are established, intermediate training focuses on greater consistency and understanding of the rifle as a complete system.

Students can work on accuracy, supported shooting positions, equipment management, optic familiarization, establishing and confirming zero, and improving consistency at increasing distances.

Typical Equipment
In addition to Level I equipment, students may use:
Sling • Appropriate optic or sights • Additional magazines • Magazine carriers • Bipod or shooting support where appropriate • Shooting bag • Appropriate range gear
The exact equipment depends on the rifle and type of training.

Level III — Advanced Rifle & Precision Fundamentals
Advanced rifle training is intended for students who already demonstrate safe handling and consistent fundamental skills.

Training can place greater emphasis on precision, positional shooting, equipment setup, observation, understanding environmental influences, data collection, and performance at greater distances.

Students interested in precision rifle or long-range shooting can use this level as a bridge into our dedicated Long-Range Precision Rifle Training.

Typical Equipment
Depending on the course:
Quality rifle • Suitable optic • Bipod • Rear support bag • Sling • Eye/ear protection • Appropriate ammunition • Data book or note-taking system • Rangefinder or observation equipment where applicable

Specialized Rifle Classes
Not every rifle shooter has the same objective, which is why we can offer several different types of instruction.

New Rifle Owner Orientation
Just purchased a rifle?
Bring it to us.

We'll help you become familiar with its basic operation, controls, safe handling, maintenance considerations, and equipment.

This is particularly valuable for someone who purchased a rifle but has little or no previous experience with that particular platform.

Bolt-Action Rifle Training
Bolt-action rifles remain a cornerstone of hunting, recreational target shooting, and precision-rifle disciplines.

Training can focus on safe operation, supported positions, optics, consistency, accuracy, and precision fundamentals.

Semi-Automatic Rifle Training
Students can learn the safe operation and fundamentals associated with appropriate semi-automatic rifle platforms, including equipment familiarization, marksmanship, maintenance, and range use.

Rimfire Rifle Training
A .22 LR rifle can be an excellent training platform.

Lower ammunition cost and manageable recoil allow students to concentrate heavily on fundamentals and consistency, making rimfire training useful for new shooters as well as experienced shooters working on precision skills.

Lever-Action Rifle Training
Lever-action rifles offer a very different shooting experience from modern semi-automatic or bolt-action platforms.

Students can receive instruction specific to safe operation, handling, sighting systems, maintenance, and recreational marksmanship.

Precision Rifle Training
For students interested in maximizing accuracy and progressing to greater distances, our precision program introduces the additional discipline required for consistent precision shooting.

Long-Range Rifle Training
Students ready to progress beyond conventional distances can continue into our dedicated Long-Range Precision Rifle Program, where training becomes increasingly focused on precision shooting, equipment, optics, environmental considerations, and repeatability.

Understanding Rifle Equipment
You don't need to purchase every accessory before taking a class.

In fact, professional instruction before spending heavily on equipment can help prevent unnecessary purchases.

Depending on your rifle and goals, useful equipment may include:
Optics — Red-dot sights, low-power variable optics, traditional scopes, or precision-rifle optics depending on the intended use.

Sling — Useful for carrying the rifle and, in some shooting disciplines, providing additional support.

Bipod — Common on precision and supported-shooting rifles.

Shooting Bags — Frequently used to provide additional support during precision shooting.
Magazines & Carriers — Appropriate to certain semi-automatic rifle courses.

Rangefinder — Useful in appropriate distance-oriented shooting disciplines.

Spotting Scope/Binoculars — Useful for observing targets and evaluating results at distance.

Eye & Hearing Protection — Essential equipment for live-fire training.
Proper Rifle Case — Important for secure transportation and protection of your equipment.

Iron Sights, Red Dots or Magnified Optics?

We can train students using different sighting systems.

Iron sights provide an excellent foundation for understanding traditional sight alignment.
Red-dot sights provide a straightforward electronic aiming system commonly used on modern sporting rifles and pistol-caliber carbines.

Magnified optics become increasingly important for precision and distance-oriented shooting.

Rather than declaring one system universally superior, we help students understand which equipment makes sense for their rifle and intended type of shooting.

Bought a Used Rifle?
Bring it to us before making it your primary range rifle.

A used firearm may have an unknown maintenance history or equipment setup. Through our broader firearm services, we can help evaluate its general condition, clean and service it as appropriate, and then provide instruction so you can become familiar with the rifle.

That combination of service + education + range training can be especially valuable for a new owner.

Private Rifle Training
Want individual attention?

Our rifle classes can also be structured as private instruction or private coaching, allowing the instructor to concentrate specifically on your firearm, equipment, experience, and objectives.

This is particularly useful when you're learning a new platform, correcting an existing problem, or preparing to progress into precision or competitive shooting.

Your Rifle Is a System. Learn the Entire System.

The rifle is only one component.

Rifle + Sights/Optic + Ammunition + Support Equipment + Shooter Fundamentals = Performance

Our objective is to help students understand how those elements work together rather than simply teaching them to fire the rifle.
